The 19th edition of the Trento Festival of Economics was highly appreciated. The event was attended by 40 thousand people, with the participation of 700 speakers and moderators who took turns over the four days with 5 Nobel Prize winners, 20 ministers and the Prime Minister, more than 80 speakers from the academic world of over 40 universities and business schools, 40 leading international and national economists, 60 representatives of national and European institutions, 40 international speakers and over 60 managers and entrepreneurs from some of the largest Italian and multinational companies.

This year's theme, 'Quo vadis? The dilemmas of our time', thus confirmed the Trento Festival of Economics as a cultural reference and discussion point on a national and international level. A debate that, thanks to a programme of great depth, allowed the many guests to ask the right questions, trying to find answers to the many questions posed by current events.

Once again this year, the Trento Festival of Economics had great value for the city of Trento and the surrounding area. Positive results therefore both in the short term, thanks to an important tourist impact, and in the medium and long term thanks to the media echo that the Festival generates in the national and international media.

A very positive effect on hotel occupancy considering the sample establishments monitored by the destination, which, during the days of the Festival, recorded a substantial sell-out, an extremely positive result that consequently involved the city's businesses and entrepreneurial fabric.

A high-tech festival where some 130 audio and video technicians working in the 25 locations ensured on-demand broadcasting of almost all the events and 167 of these events in live streaming. This 19th edition also saw the introduction of a simultaneous translation service for events in non-Italian through an innovative remote system.

More than 1,100 students from high schools in the Province of Trento and from outside Trento attended the festival. An extraordinary attendance that saw them follow with great interest not only the many events dedicated to them but also the more technical and scientific ones scheduled at the Festival. Among the public, in addition to the scientific community, the business community and young people, there were many families present, also from outside Trentino, who particularly appreciated the proposals of the "Fuori Festival".

The day after the squirrel kermesse came to a close, confirmation arrived that the event was also well received on social media.

The Festival's social channels saw the constant management and monitoring of four channels. The total content posted on the Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn accounts was viewed almost 10.5 million times through the publication of around 1,000 pieces of content, totalling more than 43,500 interactions (data constantly evolving).

In addition, synergies were created with 26 territorial entities, including sponsors and stakeholders, who actively collaborated to communicate and promote the Festival of Economics on their social channels, amplifying a coordinated message and succeeding in engaging their vertical audience.

Added to these results is the great amplification produced by the coverage of the events of the Festival and Fuori Festival on all the social channels of the 24 ORE Group - Sole 24 Ore, Radio 24, 24 ORE Eventi, 24 ORE Cultura and 24 ORE System - reaching a total of over 7.4 million users.

These numbers are accompanied by the record also recorded on the digital audience front: live streaming events on the Sole 24 Ore website and its social channels (Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter and Youtube) reached over 600,000 users. Added to these numbers are the over 40,000 users who followed the live broadcasts and videos on demand on the Festival website, a figure destined to increase thanks to the possibility of downloading videos of all the Festival events.

Audience booms also for the dozens of videos of journalistic coverage by the editorial staff of Il Sole 24 Ore, clips from panels and events at the Fuori Festival, and video content created ad hocfor social which reached over 200,000 users on the site, plus over 1 million impressions for videos on social, in particular obtained through video reel coverage on Instagram.

Among the most popular contents were Pope Francis' message at the Festival, the speeches by the Prime Minister and Ministers, but also the Fuori Festival events. Success also for the special episodes of the daily podcast "Start" dedicated to and recorded from Trento, which recorded 60,000 audio streams, three times more than last year. And the entire ilsole24ore.com website, which gave extensive coverage to the Festival's contents, closed the four days with a total of over 3.4 million connected users, +25% compared to last year.

On the information front, the press office of the Autonomous Province of Trento, in conjunction with the press offices of Gruppo 24 ORE and Trentino Marketing, mobilised a hundred or so journalists, administrative and secretarial staff, operators, photographers and IT specialists. About 200 press releases were produced, of which 14 in English and German, and over 10,000 photos were taken. 1,221 subscribers to the Festival's media newsletter, plus 86 subscribers to the German-language one and 14 to the English-language translation. 503 journalists and operators were accredited this year, of whom 328 were present in Trento, with reporters from the most important local and national newspapers.

The first press review data to date count a total of 480 articles in the various newspapers. 5000 web articles and 228 radio and television reports. Great work by the press, TV and local radio stations that were able to tell the Trentino public about a festival full of content, conveying its great cultural value.

The 24 ORE Group, present with 290 people between the editorial staff and the company, deployed all its information production capacity to narrate the days of the Festival, producing four inserts dedicated to the event, from Friday 24 May to Tuesday 28 May, an online super-dossier on the Sole 24 Ore website and constantly feeding the digital platforms and social channels. Radio 24, in addition to the five live shows, broadcast 22 live broadcasts of the programmes on the programme schedule from Piazza Cesare Battisti, allowing the Trento audience to meet their favourite presenters and experience the emotions of live radio and behind the scenes.

During the Festival, the first birthday of the 'Manifesto of Financial Education' promoted by the 24 ORE Group was celebrated with an initiative aimed at young graduates with a first class honours degree in 2024, who will receive a six-month subscription to the digital newspaper and all website content.

The third edition of the 'Sole 24 Ore Economic and Social Non-Fiction Literary Prize', launched two years ago in Trento, was also presented, with the novelty of the new podcast/videopocast category alongside the book category.

The 2024 edition of the Festival also recorded an all-time record number of partners at the event: 46 business partners signed up, plus nine media partners: ElEconomista.es, Financial Times, Sky Tg24, Economic Daily and its Sunday supplement Art Design, Il Sole 24 Ore, Ilsole24ore.com, Radio 24 and the press agency Radiocor.

The Fuori Festival's entertainment offerings were also a great success, with event evenings together with young people's favourite singers such as Francesca Michielin, Jake la Furia and Clara, comedians Ale&Franz, meetings with science popularizer Adrian Fartade and influencer Prof. Vincenzo Schettini, and numerous appointments with experts, creators and start-ups on the most pressing topics of innovation.

There was great interest in topics related to financial education with the involvement, among other things, of two young 'Young Finance Videoreporters' who collected contributions from the younger audience present at the Festival. Lastly, the initiatives in Piazza Mostra dedicated to children were a success, with many educational workshops and entertainment.

Confirmation for the "Economies of the Territories" format that has become a pillar of the Festival's proposal thanks to the commitment of the local realities of reference. A cycle of appointments running through all the days of the Festival and during which Foundations, Institutions, Research Bodies, Third Sector Organisations and Trade Associations will take an in-depth look at the dynamics of territorial development.

Many topics were covered: innovation, artificial intelligence, new technologies, research, energy and industrial transition, business economy, education and models for transforming socio-economic relations.
