2027 Hyundai Tucson: how the SUV has changed with the new generation
The first official images, from Korea, of the fifth generation of one of the Korean brand’s most popular models stand out for their radically revamped exterior design, as well as increased interior space. There are no details on the powertrains as yet.
Hyundai has revamped the Tucson, and the first photos have in fact appeared in Korea, intended for the local market.
The Korean brand’s best-selling crossover returns with a look that is, to say the least, bold, but also inspired by the world of 4x4s. The fifth generation’s new styling features centre on a brand-new H-shaped motif at both ends of the car, complemented by a light bar and vertical daytime running lights.
Furthermore, the new Tucson is 180 mm longer, but also 40 mm wider, with a wheelbase of 2785 mm, an increase of 100 mm, which provides 29 mm more headroom for passengers as well as doors that make it easier to get in and out of the vehicle.
A brand-new off-road version is on the cards
Moving on to the interior, the new Tucson follows the same bold design philosophy as the exterior. The dashboard features a large screen for the multimedia system in the centre. The steering wheel is slightly flattened at the top and bottom. There is also a dual wireless charging pad that allows two smartphones to be charged simultaneously. Finally, it is worth noting the availability of the XRT version, which gives the new Tucson an off-road look with specific bumpers and alloy wheels, as well as customised upholstery and trim inside. Hyundai has not yet finalised the details of the engines available.
