(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - In Lombardy over the last three years 2,180 new businesses have been set up, including companies and self-employed workers, thanks in part to the support of a special regional tool promoted by the Department of Economic Development. This is the 'New Enterprise' measure, which guarantees contributions towards the costs associated with the creation of new businesses. In three years, economic support from the Lombardy Region has amounted to EUR 15.4 million, thanks to which private investments of around EUR 36 million have been activated. In light of the positive results achieved, the Lombardy Regional Council, at the suggestion of Guido Guidesi, Councillor for Economic Development, has decided to refinance the Nuova Impresa call for proposals for 2024, which will be launched in the next few days and which makes available new contributions of €3,706,765. The purpose of the Nuova Impresa call for proposals is to support the start-up of new enterprises and self-entrepreneurship, including self-employment with an individual VAT number. The facility consists in the granting of a non-repayable contribution of up to 50% of the expenditure deemed eligible, up to a maximum limit of €10,000. Projects must provide for a minimum investment of EUR 3,000.

Guidesi: 'Supporting businesses supports jobs'

.

'The Lombardy Region supports businesses right from the start, offering an important tool to consolidate the delicate start-up phase. Ours is a precise cultural choice: supporting new activities, self-entrepreneurship and self-employment means giving lymph to the Lombardy economic system and creating the conditions to foster employment, growth and innovation. As a region, we continue to give concrete support to businesses because in this way we also support work, since businesses are the only generator of employment,' said Councillor Guidesi.
