24Ore Podcast: Autumn kicks off with a mix of geopolitics, economics and current affairs

Autumn also marks the arrival of new programmes dedicated to major stories and investigative reports. On 28 September, Medium was launched. ‘I casi occulti della cronaca’ (The Occult Cases in the News), the new original podcast by Francesca Zanni and Enrico Bergianti. Released monthly in two-episode instalments, the series explores the role that mediums and psychics have played in certain cases of disappearances and murders that have made headlines in Italy, reconstructing their involvement in the investigations through the testimonies of the victims’ families, magistrates, lawyers, journalists, experts from CICAP and the mediums themselves. A journalistic account that analyses a controversial and as yet little-explored phenomenon, examining the relationship between investigation, beliefs and the search for the truth.

In November, a new title will be added to the History Telling series, in which Paolo Colombo, a professor at the Catholic University of Milan, recounts the stories within history: *Hiroshima*. This account of an atomic explosion, told through the first-hand testimonies of the Hibakusha – the survivors of the atomic bomb – will transport listeners into one of the most dramatic events in contemporary history. A narrative built on the voices of those who lived through that tragedy, capable of conveying the human dimension of the first nuclear explosion used in war and its consequences on people’s lives and the collective memory. In the coming weeks, further original narrative and in-depth productions are also planned, such as The Prophets of the Code – the stories of the techno-oligarchs who are shaping our future.

Furthermore, the partnership with DAZN – which got off to a highly successful start during the 2026 FIFA World Cup – continues: in mid-October, Distinti e popolari returns – the video podcast on the world of football featuring Michele Dalai, director of DAZN, and Carlo Genta, presenter of Tutti convocati on Radio 24.

With a constantly evolving catalogue and a range of content that combines news, in-depth analysis, popularisation and storytelling, 24Ore Podcast thus confirms its role as the audio hub of the Il Sole 24 ORE Group, capable of reaching diverse audiences through original content and innovative formats, whilst showcasing the editorial expertise of Sole 24 Ore, Radio 24 and the Group’s other entities.

In fact, by 2027, a new podcast series dedicated to art and culture will take shape, born out of a collaboration between 24Ore Podcast and 24 ORE Cultura. This initiative was launched with the project I Macchiaioli, which provided visitors to the exhibition held at Palazzo Reale in Milan with a dedicated audio narrative and which continues today as a podcast available to listen to at any time.

As for upcoming events, 24Ore Podcast will be taking part in the Podcasting Festival, which is to be held on 2 and 3 October at Cascina Triulza, in the MIND Milano Innovation District. On Saturday 3 October at 12 noon, there will be a panel discussion entitled Stories, News, Mysteries and a Microphone, moderated by Andrea Franceschi, podcast editor at Il Sole 24 Ore: Francesca Zanni and Enrico Bergianti will present the new podcast Medium: The Occult Cases in the News, whilst Luca Benecchi, a journalist at Il Sole 24 Ore, will talk about his experience with the podcast “Milan to Havana: One Way Only”.

This will be followed at 12.45 pm by the presentation of the POD24 Award, presented by 24Ore Podcast to the best independent investigative and reportage podcasts, now in its fifth edition. The first edition of the award was won by Francesca Zanni with Rumore. The award is presented by a jury chaired by Alessandra Scaglioni, head of podcasts at the Il Sole 24 ORE Group, and aims to support and raise the profile of the work of independent podcasters.
