BTp: 2.5 billion allocated to 5-year bonds; yield rises by 6 cents to 3.44 per cent
The yield on the 10-year BTp stands at 4.10 per cent, the highest since November 2023
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Yields rose on the BTp bonds offered at today’s Treasury auction. Specifically, the ninth tranche of the 5-year BTp maturing on 1 June 2031 was placed, amounting to 2.5 billion against bids totalling 4.291 billion. The bid-to-cover ratio stood at 1.72, whilst the gross yield, up by 6 centesimi on the previous auction, stood at 3.44 per cent. The first tranche of the 10-year BTp maturing on 01/10/2036 was also issued. The bond was placed for 4 billion against demand of 6.483 billion, with a bid-to-cover ratio of 1.62. The yield rose by 10 cents compared with last month’s auction, settling at 4.10 per cent – its highest level since November 2023. Finally, the Treasury issued the 11th tranche of the 7-year CcTeu maturing on 15 April 2034, worth 1 billion. Demand stood at 2.004 billion. The yield stood at 3.14 per cent. The 11th tranche of the 10-year CcTeu, maturing on 15 April 2035, was also allocated, totalling 1 billion. Demand stood at 1.989 billion. The yield stood at 3.20 per cent. The settlement date for the issues is 1 September.
