A 34-year-old worker lost his life while he was working at an engineering company in Rosignano Solvay, in the province of Livorno. According to an initial reconstruction, the man, an employee of a specialised company based in Lombardy, was carrying out the replacement of an asbestos roof when the roof on which he was working suddenly gave way. The collapse caused him to fall to the ground from a height of about six metres. The 118 emergency services were immediately on the scene, but there was nothing they could do for the worker. Also present were the technical operators of the Asl (local health authority), who were tasked with carrying out the necessary investigations to accurately reconstruct the dynamics of the incident and verify compliance with work safety conditions. The area was made available to the judicial authorities. Investigations are continuing to clarify possible responsibilities.
