35 million euros from the Just Transition Fund for the Sulcis Iglesiente region
From support for businesses, with a budget of 10 million euros, to social housing, with 25 million. Funds from the European Just Transition Fund are providing the resources to support the transition and diversification of the local economy in the Sulcis Iglesiente area, with aid for large and medium-sized enterprises. These funds form part of the allocation of over one billion euros to support the economic and energy transition of the Taranto and Sulcis areas.
10 million for businesses
The first call for applications, which provides for a total allocation of 10 million euros, is aimed at large enterprises and micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and is ‘designed to support research, development and technology transfer projects for the transition and diversification of the local economy’. The scheme also provides support through research and technical assistance for innovation processes.
“The initiative,” emphasises Daniele Reginali, Daniele, Councillor for the Budget at Iglesias Town Council and a member of the supervisory committee – “aims to support the competitiveness of the local production system by funding research, development and technology transfer projects designed to introduce innovations in processes, products, organisation and marketing.”
