Milan confirms Irene Pivetti's four-year sentence for tax evasion and self-laundering
The Court of Appeal rejected the appeal of the former president of the Chamber, confirming the sentence and the seizure of 3.4 million linked to fictitious transactions with Ferrari and foreign companies.
The Milan Court of Appeal confirmed the four-year sentence for tax evasion and self-laundering for former Chamber of Deputies President Irene Pivetti.
The trial centred on a series of business transactions, dating back to 2016, amounting to around EUR 10 million.
Transactions related to the sale of three Ferrari Granturismo that, according to the investigations of Minister Giovanni Tarzia and the Gdf Economic and Financial Police Nucleus, were used to receive proceeds from tax offences.
The fourth criminal court of the Court of Appeal (Judges Fagnoni-Centonze-Marchiondelli), as requested by substitute public prosecutor Franca Macchia and prosecutor Tarzia, applied in second instance, cconfirmed in full the Court's verdict of 26 September 2024.
Also confirmed, therefore, the two-year sentences, with suspended sentence and non-mentioning, for rally driver and former Granturismo champion Leonardo 'Leo' Isolani and his wife Manuela Mascoli.
