532 new four-year courses in the technological-professional sector authorised. Enrolment from 13 January to 14 February
Valditara: 'Significant growth, membership particularly important in the Mezzogiorno'
With the issuing of the decrees by the Regional Education Offices, the authorisation phase for the four-year courses in the technological-professional sector for the 2026/2027 school year has been completed. The data submitted show significant growth: 532 new courses have been authorised, in addition to those already launched on an experimental basis in the previous two school years. Approximately 400 schools are contemplating 4+2 courses for the first time this year. In all, the number of educational institutions offering four-year courses totals more than 700.
Synergy with ITS
These realities are characterised by strong synergies with the ITS Academy system, partnerships with the business world, regional vocational training and with other directly involved parties (CPIA, universities, research organisations). The objective, thanks to highly innovative programming, is to contribute to the development of skills that can be used in the world of work, without excluding the possibility of continuing studies at university.
"The numbers confirm the success of this strategic reform for the world of education. The percentage of institutes that will offer four-year courses is very significant also because it is the result of an articulated work of curriculum design, with the involvement of ITS, companies and other subjects that are part of the VET system. We are registering a particularly important take-up in the southern regions, with 90 new courses authorised in Campania, 50 of which in the province of Naples. The four-year model can also have a structural impact on local employability by training highly specialised young people with the knowledge and skills required by businesses. The institutes involved guarantee an innovative and flexible training offer, with ample space dedicated to orientation, internationalisation and school-to-work training experiences,' said Education and Merit Minister Giuseppe Valditara. Registration will be open from 13 January to 14 February. In the Unica platform, information on institutes and specific sections dedicated to orientation are available.
