On the eighth centenary of the death of St. Francis of Assisi, who becomes a national holiday again on 4 October, the Pet Carpet association is back on the road with the sixth edition of its travelling campaign against abandonment and for road safety, which ideally transforms the saint into a modern-day 'Super Friar'. A character who makes kindness and respect his super powers and invites people to change pace: to slow down the daily frenzy to tune in to the frequencies of nature and animals, with the aim of living in a more sustainable way. Not just a duty but an act of love towards oneself.
The journey, under the patronage of Fnovi and Anas (Gruppo Fs) and with the participation of the Polizia di Stato and the Carabinieri, will make its first stop in Assisi at the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli on 31 May and 1 June, before arriving on 13 and 14 June at the lakeside promenade of Castel Gandolfo and finally stopping off on 4 and 5 July at the Magicland amusement park in Valmontone, in the province of Rome.
The itinerant and interactive campaign, devised by the Pet Carpet Association and its president, journalist Federica Rinaudo, and made possible thanks to leading and historic companies in the pet sector such as PetStore Conad and Vitakraft and in the green sector with Verdemax, aims to shake consciences through a series of experiences, games and workshops to underline the precious value of animals in daily life, the importance of responsible adoption, respect for nature and correct road education, capable of making both people and animals safe while travelling.
In this connection, the Anas's new campaign against animal abandonment, entitled 'Don't abandon a part of you', will also be presented.
