Form 730, almost 80% of taxpayers choose the simplified mode
In the first two weeks, more than four million accesses to the pre-filled form were recorded
Since 30 April, the date on which the 730 became available for consultation, more than four million citizens have accessed the pre-filled tax return. Record number of accesses in Lombardy, where 930,000 consultations were registered. They are followed by Lazio, with 480 thousand accesses, and at a close distance also Piedmont and Veneto, that touch 350 thousand readings each.
The numbers
Among the taxpayers who selected the application model 76.8 per cent opted for the simplified, which guides the citizen with a more intuitive interface. This is an increase compared to last year, when preferences for this mode stopped at 60 per cent. The deadline for sending the 730 form to be kept in mind is 30 September 2026, except for those using the Individual Income Tax. In this case, the models will be available for consultation from 20 May, with the possibility of making changes and/or additions. Submission will be permitted from 27 May and until 2 November 2026, as 31 October will fall on a Saturday this year.
The changes to 730
To view, edit or send your 730 declaration, you will be able to access the reserved area using the Public Digital Identity System (Spid), the Electronic Identity Card or the National Services Card. It is also possible to delegate a family member or a trusted person to act on your behalf: just use the special function in the personal area. Alternatively, you can use the Certified Electronic Mail (Pec) or submit a request at the Revenue Agency offices.
Citizen Assistance
To reinforce assistance to citizens, the Agency will offer support for consulting and filling in the pre-filled declaration by telephone also on Saturday mornings. On 23 May, and on 6, 13 and 20 June from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Revenue experts will answer three numbers: 800.90.96.96 for those calling from a landline, 06.97.61.76.89 for those calling from a mobile phone, and 0039.06.45.47.04.68 for those abroad. The service will be dedicated to non-professional users and, at the end of the call, it will be possible to express an anonymous judgement on the quality of the assistance received.
Other useful information can be found in the guide accessible from the 'L'agenzia informa' section of the Revenue website. There are also clips on the Agency's YouTube channel summarising the deadlines, together with a new video illustrating the 2026 novelties and reminding people how to delegate third parties to act in their own interest.
