When I decided to change jobs in life, sometimes there was no logical reason. I knew I would find it later. So when I was offered the opportunity to leave the private world to experience the public ecosystem, I decided that I would find the meaning of this choice along the way. And so I did.

Two years after this transition, I made sense of things. I simply needed to think bigger. The Minister for Public Administration, Paolo Zangrillo, wanted to give a strong signal of discontinuity with the appointment of the new governance of Formez. But what made my task easy was the fact that with him a season of profound renewal has begun. Simplification, technological innovation, and merit are themes that are part of my DNA.

In this new environment, I have met many valuable people with a sense of responsibility. I have acted to give visibility and a hearing to those who deserve it, often ignoring roles and hierarchies.

The project we are living in Formez is based on a focus on tangible results. We have listened to our members, who have rewarded us with 88% satisfaction, and to this we can add that membership of our Institute has increased by 15%.

The idea of using the Institute as a laboratory for public administrations has allowed us to focus on innovation, particularly the use of AI. The webinars we have been running since June 2024 have reached around 100 thousand beneficiaries and positive feedback of over 90%; the first virtual assistant for competitions has answered over 70 thousand questions in 7 months, and an annual benefit of over 1 million hours of waiting time is expected to be saved by participants; the profile selection tool for external consultants that we have launched will save 15 thousand hours and improve quality by 40%; we inaugurated the new method of assessing results and leadership right from the start and produced the training course on the same subject to support the Dfp for all civil servants; the procedures related to control and transparency were further strengthened, and we brought new people into the team on the basis of merit. Social trends were also significant, with more than 53 per cent more Linkedin followers, the platform for professionals.

Today's Formez is not perfect, but it is a living place, where if someone has the ability to achieve something important, he or she does not encounter any preclusions, and I feel like a testimonial of how positive it can be to have a mixture of public and private experience.

A separate aspect deserves attention to young people, although I prefer to speak of attention to talent. Talent is not only valued for its studies or experience, but for what it is and will be able to give. The real challenge is ours, who will have to select them and thus be equal to them. Space must therefore be made for unexpressed and undervalued resources. And the opening recently given by Minister Zangrillo to Technical Institutes goes in this direction.

I have always thought that people are what they tell their families, their friends, their neighbours at home at night. I like to think that I can tell my children that I am working for the new generation, so that they can consciously choose their future, avoiding paths that are predefined, facilitated, or merely made unique by a lack of imagination or vision. Our generation was born with the obligation to maximise results, the new one will develop under the banner of balance. Public administrations can respond to this need, enhancing both professional growth and the search for a balance between work and private life that young people consider fundamental.

At Formez we are doing our part to support the new cycle in the world of work, with the conviction that we can make a difference, in doing and communicating in a clear, direct, empathetic way. New seasons do not always generate a 'snowball effect' but they do create a precedent, something that others can hold on to in the future. This is our hope and our commitment.
