A sweltering Ferragosto but rain on the way: the forecast for the coming days

The weather forecast for Italia for tomorrow, Ferragosto, and for the following days, according to the Italian Air Force meteorological service.
Saturday 15 August in the North there will be thick cloud from late morning and into the afternoon over the central-western Alps and in South Tyrol; light and isolated showers during the middle of the day, including in the Ligurian hinterland, with conditions generally improving in the evening. In the Centre and Sardinia, skies will be clear or slightly cloudy at the start of the day; in the afternoon, cloud cover will increase almost everywhere, with widespread rainfall across all areas and likely showers in Tuscany and Sardinia. In the South and Sicily, there will be almost no cloud cover across all areas, with the exception of Campania, southern Puglia, the Tyrrhenian coast of Basilicata, Calabria and Sicily, where clouds will be associated with light and isolated showers.
Minimum temperatures will fall significantly across Campania and Puglia, whilst remaining stable or falling slightly in all other regions, with the exception of north-western Sicily, where temperatures are forecast to rise slightly. Maximum temperatures will rise in Veneto and the central-southern Apennines, fall sharply in the inland areas of Sardinia, and remain stable or rise slightly elsewhere; heatwave conditions will persist, with maximum temperatures peaking at 38–39°C in the inland areas of Sardinia, Tuscany, Lazio and northern Campania; maximum temperatures will also be high in Puglia, Basilicata, Calabria and Sicily, with peaks of up to 36–38°C, and in the central-western lowland areas of the North, with maximum temperatures of up to 36–37°C.
Light winds of variable direction across the whole country. Seas ranging from slightly choppy to choppy in the southern Adriatic; slightly choppy in the other basins.
