Mortgages: ABI reports average rate rose to 3.49% in May
In May 2026, the average interest rate charged by banks on new mortgages stood at 3.49% (up by 2 centesimi on the previous month; down from the 4.42% recorded in December 2023). This is according to the ABI’s monthly report published today.
