Accenture strengthens its position in Italia with two acquisitions
Double deal with the Engineering Group in the digital transformation sector: Alfahealth acquired in the healthcare sector and Industries eXcellence Group in the digital sector
Accenture has completed two new acquisitions in Italia in quick succession, further strengthening its presence in the domestic market and its ability to support digital transformation, particularly in two sectors of key importance to the country: healthcare and manufacturing.
On the one hand, Accenture has reached an agreement to acquire Alfahealth, a company within the Engineering Group and a leading player in the Italian digital healthcare sector. The deal will bring Accenture a leading platform for the management of clinical and administrative processes, as well as around 1,200 specialist professionals, strengthening the company’s capabilities in using data and artificial intelligence to improve access to services, the patient experience and clinical outcomes. Alfahealth has over twenty years’ experience in developing and managing technological capabilities, delivered through its integrated model of services and products supporting patient care pathways, including clinical and diagnostic workflows, as well as administrative and operational processes. Its technologies enable healthcare organisations to connect data and support new, more integrated models of care, meeting the scalability and regulatory compliance requirements of the Italian market.
“Italia is currently at a decisive stage in the transformation of its healthcare system, driven by growing investment in digital health, data interoperability and new models of care,” explains Teodoro Lio, CEO of Accenture in Italy. Alfahealth brings to Accenture in-depth knowledge of the healthcare sector, established relationships with the country’s healthcare organisations and distinctive expertise in the digitalisation and orchestration of clinical and administrative processes. Together, we will support healthcare facilities and institutions in accelerating innovation, improving the delivery of care and offering citizens increasingly connected, personalised experiences based on artificial intelligence and data.”
