Early access to Trump’s posts? It costs up to $100,000 a month
Trump Media’s proposal to investors for the ‘Truth API’ service
Up to $100,000 a month. That’s how much Donald Trump’s media group, behind the platform Truth Social, would like to charge traders and investors for quick access to the President’s posts.
The Financial Times reports this in reference to the service announced on 16 July, which has been criticised by those who see it as yet another way of profiting from the US presidency.
According to the financial newspaper, the figure was cited by Trump Media & Technology Group during negotiations with potential customers of “Truth API”.
With some posts capable of moving the markets and the share prices of the companies Trump praises, hedge funds and trading firms accustomed to spending heavily on high-frequency data might be willing to pay that amount.
For some, access to information with a lead of just a few milliseconds can generate substantial profits.
