Following an accident involving three cars on the Arezzo stretch of the A1, a queue of about 10 kilometres was created and motorists were given bottles of water to refresh them. It happened shortly after 1 p.m. on the stretch of motorway near the Valdarno exit, in the northbound lane.
Three people were injured in the accident, a 37-year-old man taken to the Valdarno hospital emergency room in a yellow code, another 54-year-old man, also in a yellow code at Gruccia, and a 39-year-old woman, taken to the San Donato hospital in Arezzo, also in a yellow code. A long queue formed for the work of the fire brigade, traffic police and 118 vehicles. Società Autostrade personnel were also on the scene.
