The Pope’s doctors: ‘No treatment is necessary’
The tests confirmed that it was a lung adenocarcinoma and that the disease was localised
Pope Leo XIV’s doctors, Dr Luigi Carbone and Prof. Stefano Margaritora, have announced that ‘the final histological reports and the results of the molecular biology tests on the tissue removed during the Holy Father’s operation have been received. The results have confirmed that the tumour was a pulmonary adenocarcinoma and that the disease was localised. A subsequent oncological assessment has confirmed that no further treatment is required’.
