Inexplicable delay in the Ministry of Universities and Research's order setting the dates for the State examinations for qualification for the profession of chartered accountant for the current year and establishing the tests.
Pointing out the problem is the Unione nazionale giovani dottori commercialisti ed esperti contabili (Ungdcec) (National Union of Young Accountants and Accounting Experts), which, in a communiqué issued on 9 June, urgently asks the Ministry to proceed with publication and thus provide certainty to all those involved. "A fair and functioning system," says the union's president Francesco Cataldi, "cannot disregard the deadlines and the transparency of acts. It is unacceptable, according to Cataldi, that to date the ministerial order governing the 2025 sessions of the State exams has not yet been published. "A delay," Cataldi emphasises, "that arouses great concern and indignation among candidates, professionals and institutions involved in the training path, for which the Ungdcec had already taken action in recent weeks with a letter sent to the Ministry to urge its publication.
Previous years
.Last year, the ordinance was published on 29 April and the first exam session was held on 25 July for enrolment in section A of the register and on 31 July for section B; in 2024, as an exception to the regulations in force, it was decided that the exam session would compriseone written test (instead of three) and an oral test to be held in person. In recent years, the young graduates interested in trying their hand at the qualification to become chartered accountants knew the calendar of the sessions a few months in advance: in 2023 the ordinance was published on 17 May, in 2022 on 5 May and in 2021 on 21 January the dates and 26 February the procedures.
For Serena Giannuzzi, Ungdcec delegate, the absence of official indications a few days before the summer session "represents a grave lack of respect towards thousands of aspiring professionals, who find themselves in a condition of unjustifiable uncertainty. Not knowing the timing, methods and structure of the tests hinders any possibility of planning, study and personal organisation, as well as undermining the serenity needed to tackle a fundamental stage of the professional career".
