Agrisicilia, a company specialising in the processing of Sicilian citrus fruits and producing citrus jam, inaugurates its new production plant in Belpasso, in the Catania plain. A completely renovated plant that aims to put technology at the service of food safety and traceability, able to meet both the increasingly stringent requirements of large-scale organised distribution and to protect the end consumer.

At the heart of the investment in the new production centre is the introduction of a series of state-of-the-art machines, designed to reduce human error, minimise production waste and increase the efficiency and conformity of outgoing batches. These include the pasteuriser, which is able to maintain the product at a specific temperature for a specific period of time, guaranteeing the microbiological safety and sanitary conformity of the finished product.

Also introduced was the automatic capsule vacuum control system, a system capable of detecting and mechanically rejecting jars that are not perfectly sealed, reducing the risk of food contamination, and the X-Ray scanner, aimed at detecting the presence of foreign bodies inside the jars, ensuring a non-invasive internal control to protect the consumer.

Other innovations include the label control machine, designed to check the correct application and regulatory compliance of adhesives to ensure uniformity throughout production; the direct ink-on-cardboard printer, which aims to reduce the use of additional paper materials, reducing waste and improving environmental impact; and the Plc integrated with the company management system, designed to collect and record all production parameters, monitoring process compliance in real time and reporting each batch for complete traceability.

"This plant is the synthesis of our vision: to innovate in order to offer a safe, controlled and competitive product for modern distribution,' explains Sofia Mammana, CEO of Agrisicilia. 'Each improvement is designed to evolve the quality offered to the consumer, but also to simplify the daily management of large-scale distribution, in a world where value is a consequence of efficiency.
