The incentive, clarifies the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy, regards installations carried out from 1 January to 31 December 2024.

Those domestic users who, having done the work, were unable to apply by the closing date of the previous edition of the measure, will be able to apply for the grant for the purchase and installation of electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

The beneficiaries of the subsidies are natural persons resident in Italy and condominium owners represented in particular by the administrator pro tempore or a delegated condominium owner. The subsidies, granted by Mimit, can be applied for online on the Invitalia website (application page) - which directly manages the measure - from 12 noon on 29 April to 12 noon on 27 May 2025.

The type of aid is based on the decree issued by the ministry on 12 June 2024. The measure grants up to EUR 1,500 in the case of a contribution requested by an individual, and up to EUR 8,000 in the case of a contribution requested by an apartment building. The grant of the contribution, Invitali reports, is made within 90 days of the application deadline.

In the latest study on the future of the recharging network in Italy, carried out by Motus-E in cooperation with PwC Strategy&, two possible scenarios are estimated next to the public recharging network regarding the private network. In the Conservative Scenario, the number of domestic recharging points will reach 1.5 million in 2030 and 4.4 million in 2035, numbers to which 143,000 and 451,000 recharging points in the workplace respectively should be added. In the Accelerated Scenario, 2.1 million household charging points are estimated in 2030 and 5.3 million in 2035 (188,000 and 545,000 workplace charging points respectively).
