Birth bonus in 2025: up to € 5,500 for one child, € 7,000 for two or more
Between the one-off allowance (increased by 50 per cent in the first year) and the new 1,000 euro bonus, the annual dowry rises to 5,500 euro if the Isee does not exceed 17,000 euro

In 2025 newborns will arrive in the world with already indowry a major aid package. An economic boost that in the first year could bring their families up to EUR 5,500 in monetary contributions, if the Isee does not exceed EUR 17,000. And the figure could rise to over EUR 7,000 in total if the newcomer already had two or more brothers or sisters (thus in households with three or more children).
These figures represent a targeted contribution to support childbirth, at a time when the decline in the number of births in our country continues inexorably - as Istat recalled a week ago -: 4,600 fewer new births from January to July this year, compared to the same period in 2023; about 200,000 fewer (-34%) than in 2008.
The total amount due to the newcomer is the result of the cumulation of two measures designed specifically for the first months of life, both in force in 2025:
1) On the one hand, the EUR 5,500 includes the first 15 monthly payments of the universal single allowance, in its maximum amount below the first Isee threshold, from the moment of birth or adoption, including the previous three months (the measure, in fact, is recognised from the 7th month of pregnancy).
2) on the other hand, the total includes the EUR 1,000 one-off payment for new births introduced with the new Budget Law for 2025, which is currently being approved in Parliament.
