Alessandro Di Battista hospitalised in Cuba in ‘serious condition’
The former MP, aged 48, is reportedly in a serious condition

*Il Fatto Quotidiano* reports that the former MP was admitted to hospital on Friday evening in Havana, where he is currently based to produce a feature for the newspaper, after suffering a severe headache and feeling unwell. He is said to have arrived at the hospital ‘in a serious condition’. His condition is also described as ‘serious’ by sources quoted by ANSA. A former MP for the Five Star Movement and now vice-president of the Schierarsi association, Di Battista turned 48 on 4 August.
Tajani: I am in contact with the embassy
“Since last night, I have been in contact with the Italian Embassy in Cuba to find out about the condition of Alessandro Di Battista, who has been admitted to a hospital in Havana – where he was travelling – for tests,” Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Secretary Antonio Tajani said on social media. “I am praying for his health,” he added. “The Foreign Ministry will provide him and his family with all the necessary assistance. My thoughts are with his loved ones and the political community he represents.”
