Alfa Romeo Cuorerosso: the future of the ‘Biscione’ in a concept car that inspires dreams
The Cuorerosso concept car makes its debut at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, embodying Alfa Romeo’s new vision that blends Italian design, sportiness and electrification.
At the 2026 Paris Motor Show, which runs until 18 October, the Alfa Romeo Cuorerosso makes its world debut – a concept car that does not preview any specific production model, but instead sets out the direction the ‘Biscione’ is taking in the new era of mobility. A manifesto of style, technology and passion that weaves together three of the brand’s founding elements – red, Italia and sportiness – to reinterpret them in a contemporary key.
At the heart of the project lies the desire to preserve Alfa Romeo’s DNA even as the brand evolves towards electrification, ensuring that every innovation serves the pleasure of driving and the visceral connection between car and driver. A vision which, as Santo Ficili, CEO of Alfa Romeo and Maserati, emphasises, aims to create cars capable of reflecting their era whilst, at the same time, becoming icons.
Cuorerosso, the new embodiment of Alfa Romeo’s ‘Essential Beauty’
The concept represents a new interpretation of Alfa Romeo’s philosophy of ‘Necessary Beauty’, a design principle that eliminates the superfluous to highlight the essential, bringing together aesthetics, functionality, technology and quality in a single design language.
The Biscione Design Centre developed the Cuorerosso by focusing on the purity of its volumes and the pursuit of perfect proportions, as if the car were a block of material to be sculpted until its form was revealed. The result is a 2+2 coupé measuring 4.7 metres long, 1.98 metres wide and just 1.331 metres high, characterised by continuous surfaces, a sleek silhouette and a marked sense of dynamic tension.
The wedge-shaped silhouette, the truncated tail, the integrated diffuser and the front fascia – featuring the Scudetto and the Trilobo reimagined in a modern style – evoke some of the most recognisable design cues in Alfa Romeo’s history. Aerodynamic research helps to define the design, with a drag coefficient of 0.28, whilst the forged alloy wheels, inspired by the ‘telephone’ design, and the Quadrifoglio emblem reaffirm the brand’s sporting heritage.
