A new stage in the vjourney that Il Sole 24 Ore dedicates to the Its Academy. In this episode we take a closer look at the Its Maker Academy in Emilia Romagna, an educational excellence in the field of mechatronics that has twelve training sites in the region.
L’Istituto
The Institute, which offers courses in mechanics, mechatronics, motor engineering and packaging, has over 930 students in its first and second year. The employment rate is close to 100 per cent and all of them are in jobs consistent with the training provided, thanks in part to the Pnrr push. More than twenty training courses are underway.
The link with companies
.Some 200 companies collaborate with the Its, which are central to training, offering quality jobs, company internships, and apprenticeship contracts. A contribution that can be seen in the numbers since 2013, the year in which the Its was fully operational, 55 courses have been awarded for the quality of the training offered to the benefit of the students.
The opportunities for young people
."We are looking for passion in the young people,' explains Giuseppe Boschini, director of the Its Maker Academy, 'passion for a wonderful job in the industrial world of Emilia-Romagna, which is made up of the Motor Valley, the great automotive brands of Emilia-Romagna, but also a lot of mechatronics and industrial automation. There are a lot of very interesting careers, which are also financially rewarding, and so we are looking for young people who want to seize this opportunity through the Its, which is a bridge to this extremely dynamic world of work'.
Right paths for girls too
."We collaborate with the biggest brands that are our members and so if you want to become a specialist in the world of vehicles or motorbikes we have courses at Misano and we are the Its for you,' added Boschini. 'Then there is the whole world of automation, of packaging, which is perhaps a little less well known because we do not produce racing machines, but they are nonetheless, the best Italian machines for industry. So it's a world in any case full of professions that can be done in Italy, abroad, and where a lot of technicians and also a lot of girls are sought after. We never say it, but these careers are also very suitable for girls who, overcoming a bit of prejudice, want to approach the industrial world'.
