After her recent successes in Rome in 'Sonnambula' and her previous La Scala successes in 'Lucia di Lammermoor' and 'Capuleti e Montecchi', here is soprano Lisette Oropesa at La Scala; not with opera arias (heard by her on 29 April) but with a richly interesting layout, between Italy and Spain. Società del Quartetto dedicates a rare programme of sacred and secular music, with a rich variety of instrumental and vocal ensembles. In collaboration with the Civica Scuola di Musica di Milano. Sacred music in England in the 14th century is the programme of the first concert, under the direction of Claudia Caffagni. "Nobody plays this repertoire, because the manuscript tradition of the English repertoire was massacred by the Anglican Reformation," Caffagni reminds us. "The programme is the result of almost a year of work with the students of my palaeography course, on original sources, entirely transcribed by us," she continues.
