It is an emblematic case of a company that has 'exploded' thanks to tax bonuses for construction. The Florentine company Alpha General Contractor ranks third in the 2025 Growth Leaders ranking compiled by Sole 24 Ore and Statista. The company, set up at the end of 2019 by the Finres industrial holding company and led by sole director Asmaa Gacem, 31, has gone from 658,000 euro turnover in 2020 with no profitability, to 60 million revenue with 3.7 million profit in 2023. The cagr (average annual growth rate) was 349%, making it one of the Italian companies with the highest growth over the three-year period. "We have made a careful analysis of the opportunities proposed by the market," explains Gacem, "and, thanks to the coordination and optimisation of all those involved in the construction process, we have developed a flexible and effective model to respond to customer demands. In 2020, the company had three employees, today it has 90 employees between the building and integrated design divisions. The customers are private individuals, both families and companies. "Although we have unlimited Soa certification for public works," explains the manager, "we have not developed the public sector so far.

Managing such strong growth was not easy from an organisational point of view. "It required a lot of coordination and the involvement of highly specialised figures in various sectors," explains Gacem. The company, which is based in Sesto Fiorentino, has focused on certifications, from ISO 9001, 14001, 39001, 45001 to gender equality certification, and will also produce its first sustainability report in 2023. Now that the tax bonuses are being reduced, Alpha is thinking about the future: "We aim to increase our leadership in the building and energy efficiency sector," emphasises Gacem, "thanks also to the Esco (energy service company) qualification that we have acquired with the aim of being a driving force in the energy transition process. The forecast for this year is to confirm the turnover of 2023, always driven by sustainability. Says Gacem: "We have joined the United Nations Global Compact and, in addition to paying attention to reducing our environmental impact, we follow the fundamentals of corporate social responsibility and raise awareness on ethical issues and areas such as human rights, labour sustainability and anti-corruption.
