Amateur sport, subsidies for equipment and facility upgrading: the agreement between Icsc and Asi
Facilities that, in recent years, have affected numerous disciplines, including fitness and wellness, horse riding, football, motor racing and motorcycling, dance, sailing, skating and ice hockey
Key points
An agreement that allows amateur sports associations and clubs to obtain financial solutions for the purchase of equipment and upgrading of facilities. This is the objective of the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the Istituto per il Credito Sportivo e Culturale (Icsc) and the Italian Social Sports Associations (Asi).
Three-year agreement
A three-year agreement that aims to develop operational synergies between Icsc and one of the main Sports Promotion Bodies recognised by the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI), which has almost two million members and around 12,000 affiliated ASDs and Ssds throughout Italy.
Not only football: from fitness to dance, the disciplines concerned
Thanks to the agreement, Asd and Ssd affiliated to Asi can access the facilities that, in recent years, have covered numerous disciplines, including fitness and wellness, horse riding, football, motoring and motorcycling, dance, sailing, skating and track hockey, confirming the wide territorial spread and variety of sports supported.
"Enhancing sport"
"The protocol with Asi activates a synergy between two complementary dimensions: the territorial one, expressed by the capillary network of associations and sports clubs affiliated to Asi, and the financial one, guaranteed by the Istituto per il Credito Sportivo e Culturale, a specialised garrison capable of structuring facilitated and calibrated financing lines on the characteristics of non-profit sports. A collaboration with a shared objective: supporting the development of proximity facilities to enhance grassroots sport as a lever for growth and cohesion in local communities,' commented Icsc CEO Antonella Baldino.
"The partnership with Icsc has been with us for years in light of common goals. The promotion of sport and the growth in numbers and quality of sports facilities in the area are very important goals. Being close to the associations is another issue that we particularly care about and that is part of the daily commitment of Asi and Icsc,' commented Asi President Claudio Barbaro.
