The flop of Humane's AI Pin, the smart pin created with the ambition of replacing smartphones, does not stop interest in producing wearables that make use of artificial intelligence: Jeff Bezos's colossus will probably be the one to propose a similar alternative in the future. Amazon, in fact, has acquired Bee: a start-up based in San Francisco, California, that has launched a bracelet on the market - at a cost of $49.99 and similar to the Fitbit - that uses AI to learn what we say during the day and generate personalised summaries, just like a personal diary, but automatically. Making the announcement is Maria de Lourdes Zollo, co-founder of the startup, who writes on Linkedin: 'When we started Bee, we imagined a world where artificial intelligence is truly personal, where your life is understood and improved by technology that learns with you. What started as a dream with an incredible team and community now finds a new home at Amazon. Ethan - the founder of the company - and I couldn't think of a better partner to help us bring truly personal, agent-like artificial intelligence to even more customers".

With the user's consent, the wristband can access e-mail, location, contacts, photos and other data to improve the results provided by the AI, but there are doubts on the privacy front.

According to the current disclosure, Bee allows users to delete their data at any time and states that it does not use records for AI; the company has also announced its intention to develop processing directly on the device, reducing the risks involved in using the cloud: however, it is unclear what will change in this regard after the union with the Seattle-based company. The value of the deal is not known and, according to TechCrunch, has not yet been finalised, but the acquisition shows Amazon's intention to focus on wearable AI, expanding its reach beyond home automation devices and voice assistants.
