Ambrogino d'oro to Fabio Tamburini, editor of Sole 24 Ore

'A keen observer of Italian and international markets and political scenarios,' reads the motivation for awarding the prize to the Editor-in-Chief of Il Sole 24 Ore, 'under his editorship the daily newspaper has confirmed itself as an essential point of reference for the public, institutions and economic operators with in-depth reports and investigations on crucial issues. Convinced that knowledge is essential for making responsible and prudent choices, especially in times of crisis and uncertainty, he chairs the scientific committee of the Trento Festival of Economics, proposing debates of wide interest and inviting young people, the real lever of the future, to expose themselves in the debate'.

Tamburini commented: "I dedicate this prize, of which I am very proud,to the children, too many children, who die in the too many wars that are going on in the world. Children are born to be happy and not to die in wars decided by a few and in which many, too many, die."

Tamburini, who also received the Crédit Agricole 'Witnesses of History 2025' Prize in Trieste, the 'Penna d'oro' Prize in Verona and the Acqui Storia 'Witnesses of Time' Prize, has served in his career as a correspondent for Repubblica and Deputy Editor of the weekly Milano Finanza, the daily MF and Ansa, among others.

Since 12 September 2018, he has been Editor-in-Chief of Sole 24 Ore, Italy's leading daily newspaper in economic, financial and regulatory information which celebrated its 160th birthday this year, of the Radiocor news agency and of Radio 24. He is Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Trento Festival of Economics, organised by the 24 ORE Group on behalf of Trentino institutions since 2022.
