The meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin in Alaska generated a boom of digital conversations on social platforms. Starting with the keywords "Trump", "Putin" and "Peace", 60.7 million interactions were generated, with two polarisation peaks: one on the arrival of the two presidents in Anchorage and the other at the end of the meeting. These are the findings of the analysis company Arcadia, according to which in the last 24 hours the names of the two Presidents have produced a total of over 53 thousand hashtags, adding up the different declinations made by users.
But beyond the predictable amount of conversations and interactions about a meeting that has monopolised the attention of the world's media, according to Domenico Giordano - administrator and data analyst for Arcadiacom.it - the percentage data of users' sentiment expresses 'conditional trust' in the two leaders, especially with respect to the actual results of the meeting.
The Top 5 of the digital speech map is obviously monopolised by the United States, with 45 million interactions, followed by Brazil, India, the United Kingdom and finally Canada. From the census of new followers recorded by Arcadia between 14 and 16 August, it is Donald Trump's personal accounts that take the biggest slice: in particular, it is the US leader's Instagram account that grows by a good 20,000 new followers.
