A 30 million investment to relaunch the Gioia del Colle production site in the province of Bari. A project that, in reality, aims to exceed 50 million, thanks also to national and local support instruments.
This is what the preliminary agreement signed by Ansaldo Energia at the Ministry of Enterprise with the current owner of Sofinter, a company specialising in the production of boilers for power generation plants, provides for. The agreement is to be finalised in the next steps necessary to complete the sale of the site.
The plan will not entail the relocation of Ansaldo group's activities, either from the Genoa site or from the group's other industrial centres, and - as Mimit points out - envisages 'total investments in excess of EUR 50 million over the next three years'. Of these, EUR 30 million will be covered directly by Ansaldo Energia, while the remainder will be supported through national and local support instruments for reindustrialisation processes. The number of employees, who are highly qualified, will gradually increase in line with the extension of the operating perimeter to 139 at the conclusion of the reindustrialisation plan.
Activities will be developed along four industrial lines, including innovative and sustainable projects such as the recycling of photovoltaic panels and the production of green hydrogen in Apulia, with the aim of accelerating the energy transition and strengthening strategic industrial supply chains.
This agreement, for Mimit owner Adolfo Urso, 'represents a concrete opportunity for rebirth and development for the Gioia del Colle site and for the entire region: a path of productive revival that enhances skills, attracts investment and strengthens the industrial fabric.
