Ansaldo reaches agreement with Hitachi on solutions for electricity grids and data centres

Hitachi Energy and Ansaldo Energia have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop and market integrated energy solutions, designed to enable customers to access reliable energy more quickly and meet the rapidly growing demand for electricity. The collaboration, according to a statement, aims to bring together complementary expertise in power generation and grid infrastructure, combining Ansaldo’s technologies for gas turbines and generators with Hitachi’s expertise in the comprehensive integration of grid systems, from high-voltage equipment and transformers through to automation and power electronics. Together, the two companies intend to develop integrated solutions for generation and electrification capable of serving both 60-hertz and 50-hertz markets, including applications in data centres.
