Applause galore for the Twin Violins

At the Fuorifestival applause upon applause for the Twin Violins. The Twin Violince Experience evening for the duo who performed at the Filarmonica was interrupted several times by fans who flocked to applaud them. But if this is the outcome of a widely anticipated success here in Trento, let us go step by step in recounting the journey of these two young artists.

It all began for the duo composed of the two violin 'virtuosos', as well as twin brothers, indistinguishable to most, Mirko and Valerio Lucia, (born in Sicily, class of 2007), when the instrument entered their lives at the age of 8, thanks to their father. One day, just for fun, the twins asked their dad to try it out, and incredibly, they immediately showed an innate feeling for it. An all-embracing passion in short. In 2020, during the first wave of Covid, with an amateur video, made by their mum at home, they perform Coldplay's Viva la Vida to give everyone hope; and that's the spark of success! Posted on social media, the video immediately went viral and went around the world, reaching around 500 million views in just a few weeks.

Their performance became so viral that it attracted the attention of various world-famous personalities and artists such as: Penelope Cruz; Gwyneth Paltrow; as well as Coldplay themselves who shared Mirko and Valerio's video on their social media, sparking the enthusiasm of millions of fans. So it happens that the twins receive a call from Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.

But that's not enough. In fact, Mirko and Valerio played with the artist in the worldwide live streaming concert 'Together at Home' broadcast by Global Citizen and organised by Ladu Gaga and Chris Martin. The brothers were also guests on the world's biggest TV talk show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, as well as taking first place in the Top ten most popular videos in the United States of America, on the CBS News International portal, the most viewed video of 2020. In 2021 they played with Jon Batiste, American pianist and author of 'Freedom', Oscar and Golden Globe winner in 2020 for the Pixar film 'Soul'. This year Fiorello's May appearances in his Viva Rai 2.

Here in Trento, the duo performed some of the big pop, rock and classic hits in their usual modern instrumental key. Among other tracks, they performed Don't be shy (Karol G & Tiesto), The final countdown (Europe), Volare (Nel blu dipinto di blu), the inevitable Viva la vida by Cold play, which was the key to their explosion, Flowers (Miley Cyrus), Bohemian Rhapsody (Queen), Believer (Imagine dragons), Satisfaction (Rolling Stones), Levitating (Dua Lipa), Sweet dreams (Annie Lenox), Beautiful things (Benson Boone), Summer (Vivaldi rock), Tuta gold (Mahmood), La vita è bella - Life is beautiful (Piovani), Nuovo cinema Paradiso (Morricone), Seven Nation army (White stripes)'. Of course, their first original song, 'Volkano, (Twin violins, virtual featuring with Lucio Dalla)' was not long in coming. And they are only 19 years old..
