‘In Cammino tra arte e fede’ is back – a journey through Italy’s spirituality and traditions
Every Monday at 3.10 pm on Rai3, the eight new episodes of the fifth series will be broadcast.
“In Cammino tra arte e fede” is returning to Rai 3 – the programme that explores Italy through its spiritual journeys, its artistic heritage and the stories of the men and women who have left their mark.
The programme
From 13 July to 31 August, every Monday at 3.10 pm on Rai3, the eight new episodes of the fifth series will be broadcast. The programme, presented by Father Enzo Fortunato and Giulia Nannini, written by Paola Miletich and directed by Marco Capasso, renews its invitation “to set out on a journey, transforming each episode into an exploration of places that preserve memory, spirituality, art and traditions”.
A journey, both physical and spiritual
“With *In Cammino*,” explained Father Enzo Fortunato, “we wish to take the audience on a journey that is not merely geographical, but also an inner one. A television programme that combines educational content, spirituality and the celebration of Italia’s cultural heritage. Every place featured holds a story of beauty, spirituality and humanity: rediscovering it means reconnecting with the deep roots of our culture and opening ourselves up to a message of brotherhood, peace and hope.”
The 2026 itineraries
The 2026 summer edition takes in some of Italia’s most significant religious and cultural routes. Starting from the Amalfi Coast, with a stop dedicated to Vietri sul Mare – the gateway to the coast – and the monumental Abbey of the Holy Trinity in Cava de’ Tirreni, one of the most important monastic complexes in southern Italy, the journey continues along the evocative Sacred Route of St Michael, the ancient route which, according to tradition, links Scotland to the Holy Land. In Italia, the route will stop at the two great St Michael’s shrines: the Sacra di San Michele in Val di Susa and the Sanctuary of Monte Sant’Angelo on the Gargano, places that symbolise European pilgrimage.
One of the most eagerly awaited events will be dedicated to the 800th anniversary of the death of St Francis of Assisi. The tour will then stop off at Castel Gandolfo, the historic summer residence of the Popes, and continue on to San Giovanni Rotondo, following in the footsteps of Padre Pio to learn not only about the Capuchin saint himself, but also about the works inspired by his evangelical witness. The journey will conclude in Bari, a city that symbolises the meeting of East and West.
