Dabon, meaning 'really', in Piacenza dialect.

The fact that it really works is in the numbers of the start-up that chose this name (adding an h), a reality born in this very territory just 13 months ago but already able to present itself on the market with operational and 'billable' applications.

Linked to the world of artificial intelligence and machine learning, developing algorithms coupled with digital twins capable of boosting efficiency, reducing energy consumption, better scheduling of maintenance, and improving production processes. As is the case with one of Dabohn's customers, Nordmeccanica (also from Piacenza), a packaging machinery manufacturer that uses an application capable of managing the production complexities associated with the coupling of materials to make packaging.

"Depending on the type of product to be manufactured," explains Dabohn CEO and co-founder Andrea Tagliaferri, "our software indicates a particular setup, the one that on the basis of the data collected produced the best performance, operating on a mass of up to 100 parameters, including temperatures, types and quantities of adhesive, pressures, speeds. It is clear that the advantages grow as the complexity of the market increases, because when batches are reduced, setup times and the quality of new adjustments become decisive competitive parameters".

This is not an isolated customer, which joins other experiences already underway among dairies that want to optimise processes, utilities that aim to identify pollutants in waste water, cement factories and large-scale distribution. Where, for example, in the maintenance of refrigerated counters, significant advantages can be gained through the use of these algorithms and the data available with the sensors already in place.

"Through targeted control and timely maintenance, energy efficiency can improve by up to 10 per cent," explains the entrepreneur, "and if perhaps on a single piece of equipment this activity seems to produce limited absolute savings, on a network of hundreds of objects the benefits begin to be interesting. Generally speaking, what we do is to respond to one of the main problems faced by companies, namely the lack of expert and specialised technical figures. Our software tries to simplify and standardise activities, allowing us to concentrate interventions and avoid, for example, empty outlets'.

Customers that lead Dabohn to embark on an initial growth path, assuming to close 2025 at EUR 400,000 in revenues, five times the amount achieved last year. "By operating with licences, therefore with recurring fees, we expect to consolidate growth and have incremental revenues that add to the previous base. Of course, we may not be hypothesising Silicon Valley-style quantum leaps, but we do think we will grow solidly, also with new investments in the future. We are now five, and we expect two more employees by the end of the year, while we are aiming for a staff of ten by 2026'.
