Assisi 2026 Pathways, a summer school organised by the Sacro Convento and Luiss
The theme of the 2026 edition (31 August to 6 September 2026) – “The future of work is today. People, innovation and responsibility” – will guide an interdisciplinary programme dedicated to the major transformations in contemporary work
From 31 August to 6 September 2026, Assisi will once again become a place where young students can meet, study and exchange ideas for a new edition of ‘Percorsi Assisi’, the summer school organised by the Sacred Convent of St Francis in collaboration with LUISS and six other Italian universities. According to a press release, for one week, university students and young professionals under 35 from various academic disciplines will be able to enjoy an educational experience in the Umbrian city, comprising study, dialogue and genuine relationships. The theme of the 2026 edition – ‘The future of work is today. People, innovation and responsibility’ – will guide an interdisciplinary programme dedicated to the major transformations in contemporary work. It offers an opportunity to reflect on how professions, skills and responsibilities are changing, bringing together anthropology, economics, ethics, technology and artificial intelligence.
The programme
The programme will alternate between lectures, seminars, workshops and group activities, with the participation of university lecturers, tutors and experts. Alongside the study sessions, participants will take part in local visits, cultural events and opportunities for informal discussion, in an experience that combines academic reflection with a human and relational dimension. “Within the landscape of university summer schools, Percorsi Assisi is a unique experience of its kind,” the statement continues, “not merely a series of lectures, but a space where people, ideas and different fields of study come together. A context in which knowledge is built together, through horizontal dialogue, listening and discussion, inspired by a spirit of fraternal humanism and solidarity.”
Registration
Applications will remain open until 27 June. To apply, you will need to submit a CV and a covering letter, in accordance with the instructions set out in the call for applications, which will be published on the official website. A certificate of attendance will be issued at the end of the Summer School.
