The Red Rocks. And the crystal-clear sea that opens up the view after a long, slow walk through shrubs and Mediterranean scrub. And a carousel of colours capable of providing an unforgettable experience. Welcome to Arbatax, the point of arrival but also of departure for those who complete at least two stages of the Cammino 100 Torri. Here, in central-eastern Sardinia, the two routes (out of eight) of the 1284-kilometre walk intersect. It is precisely in this part of Sardinia that the end of the via Sarcapos and the beginning of the via Ogliastra cross, where one arrives by following some sections of the famous Selvaggio blu pedestrian route. An itinerary in which the environment, sea and mountains mingle, but also history and culture, the focus of the Noi camminiamo in Sardegna initiative. And to describe what is described as 'an unforgettable experience', one only has to try to retrace it. Starting precisely from Arbatax, the hamlet of Tortolì in Ogliastra where the Red Rocks offer an unrepeatable spectacle. It is no coincidence that during the summer they become the natural setting for concerts and events. The walk continues along paths that cross the Tortolì pond and long beach for ten kilometres to Santa Maria Navarrese. The crystal-clear, blue water of the sea alternates with the vegetation that decorates rocky ridges stretching down to the sea and untouched vegetation. From this village, Santa Maria Navarrese is a hamlet of Baunei, the path resumes, which requires even more effort but offers emotions and an unforgettable experience. Walking for 18 kilometres along demanding paths (the difference in height is significant), you manage to reach the Golgo plateau from where you can enjoy views that hikers describe as 'unrepeatable'.
We Walk in Sardinia
.The gentle slope leads to Cala Sisine and closes the three-day 'Noi Camminiamo in Sardegna'. We walk for 16 kilometres until we arrive at one of the most beautiful beaches in Sardinia, Cala Sisine. Here, in the Gulf of Orosei, there is also the mouth of the stream that comes from the Golgo plateau in winter. The small white pebbles then make the water transparent. Those who wish can then follow the itineraries of the Cammino 100 torri along the 70 stages that can be completed in 45 to 60 days, either on foot, by bicycle or on horseback. Throughout the journey, one then discovers the local food and wine specialities; moreover, there is the possibility, depending on the time of year, to attend the numerous festivals and festivities and everyone is left with the memory of an unforgettable experience.
