Here is an excerpt from the speech by the rector, Elena Beccalli
This morning's programme expresses what I believe to have been one of Professor Franco Anelli's distinguishing traits, namely his versatility. He was a fine and rigorous scholar, a passionate and never banal lecturer, an acute and appreciated professional, and a balanced and brilliant rector. The speeches that will follow will highlight the various aspects of his activity, and so I thank, on behalf of the entire family of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, the distinguished speakers who have agreed to be present on this day dedicated to him. The speeches planned will help to build a living memory of Professor Anelli's commitment and work for the academic community, for the scientific and professional community, and for society as a whole.
