Ducati unveils Hypermotard V2 and DesertX at Eicma 2025; Monster MY26 debuts
Ducati at the Milan show with many new products to enrich the range
After the five novelties unveiled with the Ducati World Première 2026 (Multistrada Multistrada V4 Rs and Diavel V4 Rs, Panigale V4 R, Multistrada V4 Rally, Scrambler Nightshift Emerald Green), the Hypermotard V2 and V2 Sp, the most powerful ever, make their debut at Eicma, exactly 20 years after the first prototype: the fourth generation is a modern, compact and essential motorbike. With a weight reduction of 13 kg (14 kg for the Sp) compared to the previous 950, the new Hypermotard V2 is more agile and responsive. At the same time, it is the most powerful of the Hypermotards, thanks to the V2 with IVT variable valve timing delivering 120 hp and maximum torque of 94 Nm, 70% of which is available as early as 3,000 rpm. The Hypermotard V2 SP is even more technological with more specialised equipment, including Öhlins suspension and Brembo M50 brake callipers.
At Eicma for the first time in the world it is possible to admire live the fifth generation of the Monster, naked born in 1992. Redesigned from the ground up, the new Monster is fitted with the new 890 cc 90° IVT V2 engine, capable of 111 hp; it boasts a dry weight of just 175 kg, with a seat height of 815 mm that can be lowered to 775 mm for less tall riders or female customers.
The Monster MY2026 recovers the stylistic features that have always distinguished the naked bike par excellence: the headlight framed by the "shoulders" of the bison tank, the single seat for rider and passenger and the short and light tail. Make way also for the off-road world: four years after the presentation of the DesertX, the first modern Ducati with a 21" front wheel, the Bolognese manufacturer unveils the preview of the new model, which will be available from May 2026: it is lighter, with a weight in running order without fuel of 206 kg by virtue of the technical basis centred on the new V2 IVT engine which makes it more versatile and performs better, both on and off-road; the maximum power of the new DesertX is 110 hp with a torque of 92 Nm.
All details of the new DesertX will be revealed in February 2026. Still on the off-road theme, but specialised, Eicma 2025 was the scene of two world premieres: the new Desmo250 MX and the Desmo450 Enduro, available from July next year.
Finally, the Panigale is not to be missed: two new versions of the Panigale V2 dedicated to Bagnaia and Marquez are present in Milan.
