At MCE Expocomfort: sustainable technologies and a focus on water
From 24 to 27 March, the exhibition and conference organised by Rx Italy – the first trade fair in Italia to be certified as a green event
Technologies for sustainability, with a focus on energy and water. These will be the key themes at MCE – Expocomfort Exhibition and Conference, the biennial event dedicated to the HVAC+R sector (heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration), scheduled to take place at Fiera Milano from 24 to 27 March. “It will be a significantly revamped edition,” explains Massimiliano Pierini, managing director of Rx Italy, the event’s organiser, “in line with market demands. The focus will be on energy at the heart of the innovation process. This is a theme that runs through all areas of the event and involves the leading international players at the fair, who are committed to developing the most advanced solutions in the sectors of plant engineering, cooling, heating and water management.” Particular attention, adds Pierini, “will be paid to the key trends of decarbonisation, digitalisation, energy efficiency and renewable energy as fundamental elements of the energy transition towards a more sustainable and responsible future.”
With just a few days to go before the pavilions open, the managing director of Rx Italy points out, “We have filled all the available exhibition space, with 1,700 companies registered, over 50 per cent of which are from abroad. The trade fair remains an unmissable event for building relationships and strategic alliances’. However, recent developments in the Middle East could have an impact on visitor numbers.
The Awards
The Mce Excellence Awards are back – the initiative that recognises technological excellence within the sector. Launched in 2024, this award is a benchmark for companies and professionals who drive innovation through cutting-edge solutions aligned with the energy transition and environmental protection, in line with the 17 goals of the UN’s 2030 Agenda and the European Green Deal.
The ‘Intelligent (use) of water’ project, developed in collaboration with the leading trade associations, will focus on water: exhibiting companies operating in the water treatment, sanitary engineering, pumps and valves sectors are invited to take on the role of Water Ambassadors, presenting the market with the most innovative solutions for the management of primary water supplies for domestic and industrial use, whilst highlighting the importance of this resource and the need to minimise wastage as much as possible.
Our commitment to the environment
In 2014, MCE was the first trade fair in Italia to obtain sustainable event certification in accordance with ISO 20121. “This certification,” concludes Pierini, “represents not only our group’s commitment to sustainability, but also our determination to act as a driving force in these areas throughout the entire supply chain, from exhibitors to visitors and partners.” The RX Group is a founding member of the Net Zero Carbon Events Pledge, through which it is committed to halving greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and achieving net zero by 2040.
