Technologies at the service of sustainability with a focus on energy and water. These will be the topics at the centre of Mce - Mostra convegno Expocomfort, the biennial exhibition dedicated to the HVAC+R sector (heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration) scheduled at Fiera Milano from 24 to 27 March. "It will be a strongly revamped edition," explains Massimiliano Pierini, managing director of Rx Italy, the event's organising company, "in line with market demand. The focus will be on energy at the centre of the innovation process. A theme that runs through all the areas of the event and involves the main international players present at the fair, engaged in the development of the most advanced solutions in the fields of plant engineering, cooling, heating and water management". Special attention, adds Pierini, "will be paid to the unavoidable trends of decarbonisation, digitalisation, energy efficiency and renewable energies as a constituent element of the energy transition for a more sustainable and responsible future".
A few days before the opening of the pavilions, stresses the managing director of Rx Italy, "we have all the available exhibition spaces occupied, with 1,700 registered companies, of which more than 50% from abroad. The fair is still an essential appointment for building relationships and strategic alliances'. However, recent developments in the Middle East could have an impact on the number of visitors attending.
The Mce Excellence Awards, the initiative that rewards technological excellence in the sector, are back. Introduced in 2024, this award is a benchmark for companies and professionals who innovate with cutting-edge solutions in line with the energy transition and environmental protection consistent with the 17 goals of the UN 2030 Agenda and the European Green Deal.
Water will be the focus of the Intelligent (use) of water project, created in cooperation with the main trade associations: exhibiting companies active in the water treatment, sanitary technology, pumps and valves sectors are called upon to play the role of Water Ambassadors, proposing to the market the most innovative solutions for the management of primary water for civil and industrial use, highlighting the importance of this resource and the need to reduce its wastage as much as possible.
In 2014 Mce was the first trade fair in Italia to be certified as a sustainable event on the basis of Iso 20121. "The certification," Pierini concludes, "represents not only our group's commitment to sustainability, but also its willingness to act as a driving force on these aspects throughout the entire supply chain, from exhibitors to visitors and partners. The Rx group is a founding member of the Net Zero Carbon Events Pledge, by which it commits to halve greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and achieve net zero by 2040.
