The star of pianists, Yuja Wang, arrives in Italy; this unique date takes place on the enchanted stage of Ravello, where Wang, together with a super formation such as the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, gives us two concerts: in addition to the celebrated Tchaikovsky concert, he introduces us to the music of the contemporary Ukrainian Kapustin (who died in 2020).

Ravello

The famous festival starts on 6 July and ends on 25 August. On the 13th is the only Italian date for star pianist Yuja Wang, together with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra. She plays two Concertos: the one by Tchaikovsky and the fourth written (in 1989) by Nikolai Kapustin. 340 metres above the sea, the stage seems 'suspended' in the void, the backdrop is the Gulf of Salerno, surrounded by the garden of Villa Rufolo. The first concert was in 1953, conducted by Scherchen with the S. Carlo Orchestra, music by Wagner, who had found in Villa Rufolo both the ideas for the setting of the second act of Parsifal, that of Klingsor's Magic Garden, and the ideas for the entire musical plot of his last masterpiece.

Aix-en-Provence

At the famous Opera Festival, which continues until 21 July, from 4 to 18 eight performances of Mozart's 'Don Giovanni', conducted by Simon Rattle with the excellent Bavarian Radio Orchestra, directed by the young Robert Icke, who has already distinguished himself (and won awards) in London's drama theatre, in an innovative venue like the Almeida Theatre and then in the West End establishment. This is his opera debut.

Verona

On the 5th at the Teatro Romano we hear a star like Max Richter with his ninth album, 'In A Landscape'. He himself on electronics, together with a string quintet; a fleeting self-portrait of a musician in constant motion, searching for a perfect balance between electronic and acoustic sounds. Approximately three billion streams and one million albums sold: we remember his worldwide success for his reinterpretation of the 'Four Seasons' and the soundtrack of the world-selling TV series, 'L'amica geniale'.

Another date on the 6th in Ravenna, in the contemporary architecture of Palazzo De André designed by Sadich, for the Ravenna Festival.
