The Faculty of Economics and Law, Piacenza-Cremona Branch, of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore has obtained the exclusive accreditation in business from AACSB International. Founded in 1916, AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) is the longest-running global accreditation body for business schools and the largest management education network connecting students, faculty and businesses worldwide.
Striving for excellence in all areas
"AACSB accreditation recognises institutions that have demonstrated a focus on excellence in all areas, including teaching, research, curriculum development and student learning," said Stephanie M. Bryant, Eexecutive Vice President and Chief Accreditation Officer of AACSB. "Congratulations to the Faculty of Economics and Law, Piacenza-Cremona Campus of the Catholic University and Dean Marco Allena for achieving accreditation; we express our appreciation to the entire team, including administration, faculty, staff and students, for their contribution to achieving this prestigious award."
New Approaches
Guaranteeing the highest quality standards, AACSB accreditation promotes new approaches in management education globally. As a result, less than 6 per cent of institutions worldwide that offer degree programmes in business have AACSB accreditation. With this ratification, a total of 1,086 institutions in 71 countries and territories have achieved AACSB accreditation in business. In addition, 195 institutions have additional AACSB accreditation for accounting programmes.
Rector Elena Beccalli
The Rector of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore Elena Beccalli commented: 'The AACSB accreditation fulfils a priority objective of the 2026-28 Strategic Plan, since one of its pillars concerns the enhancement of the University's international projection. The accreditation of the Faculty of Economics and Law, which I would like to thank for the intense work carried out in recent years, testifies to the ability of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore to combine academic excellence, innovation and attention to the student experience in an increasingly global perspective".
Mark of quality and collective effort
"Obtaining AACSB accreditation represents a significant milestone for the Faculty of Economics and Law: a mark of quality of which we are proud, a confirmation of our constant commitment to excellence in teaching, research and relations with the business world," said Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Law Marco Allena.
Laura Zoni, Vice Dean and Associate Dean for International Relations and Accreditation, added: "This result reflects the collective effort of our faculty, staff, students and our corporate and academic partners. On this basis, we will continue to build on our efforts to strengthen the international dimension of the University, consolidate our dialogue with the productive world for the benefit of our students and cultivate our historic vocation to promote social and economic value".
