A day at the Domizia Lucilla Institute to talk about cultural diversity
The event, scheduled for 21 May, is part of the World Day for Cultural Diversity, Dialogue and Development, established by Unesco.
Key points
Cultural diversity will be discussed at the 'Domizia Lucilla' hotel and catering institute. The event will be staged on 21 May, on the occasion of the celebration of the World Day for Cultural Diversity, Dialogue and Development, established by Unesco. The initiative represents not only a celebratory moment, but the concrete return of an articulated educational journey developed throughout the school year, which has seen the active and passionate participation of numerous students, often even beyond the curricular hours.
Renewed training offer
In recent years, the school has embarked on a profound process of renewal, orienting its educational offerings towards an increasingly international dimension. Through mobility and training abroad, the school is concretely broadening the educational and professional horizons of its students. This commitment translates into the development of increasingly solid linguistic and intercultural skills, a greater openness to the European world of work and a significant strengthening of motivation to study.
In this perspective, the 21 May celebration takes on a strategic value: it consolidates the role of the school as a cultural and social garrison of the territory, capable of combating school drop-out, enhancing talents and promoting real opportunities for growth for the younger generations. In fact, the impact of the initiative extends beyond the confines of the institute, involving institutions, bodies and associations in a broad and shared educational dialogue.
The programme
The day will begin at 9:00 a.m. with a welcome for participants and institutional greetings from Claudia Pratelli, Councillor for Education of the Municipality of Rome; Marco Della Porta, President of the Municipality XIV; Claudia Salerno, Councillor for Educational and School Policies of the Municipality XIV; and Ilaria Ceccarelli, President of the Social Commission of the Municipality XIV. An in-depth conference divided into thematic panels will start at 10:00 am. During the course of the day, students will be protagonists through exhibitions, tastings and gastronomic itineraries, as well as the presentation of the e-book 'Flavours from around the world', a digital recipe book dedicated to international food and wine traditions, conceived as a dynamic tool destined to grow over time.
