At the Venice Boat Show the ship simulator that prepares future pilots
The immersive instrument will be on display from 27 to 31 May at Tesa 89 in the Arsenal.
A boat driving simulator at the Venice Boat Show. Bringing it along and showing it in operation to visitors will be the Its Marco Polo Academy, which will participate in the Venetian event on international boating from 27 to 31 May with its own exhibition and information space in the North Adriatic Sea Port System Authority pavilion (Tesa 89 in the Arsenale).
L’iniziativa
For the ITS Marco Polo, which currently offers 11 study courses and has around 300 enrolled students, the Venice Boat Show represents a consolidated appointment. In 2025, the sixth edition of the Show had marked the 'baptism' of the newly-established Logistics & Sea Academy, of which the ITS is part together with the Venice Maritime School (Vemars) and the Centro di Formazione Logistica Intermodale (CFLI). A year on, the Its Marco Polo has chosen the place par excellence of the meeting between maritime tradition and innovation to exhibit one of the four immersive simulators used for the students' classroom exercises, which uses state-of-the-art technology to reproduce real navigation scenarios. Visitors will be able to climb onto the virtual command bridge and test the simulator, assisted by the Its students and Vemars instructors present in the Arsenal.
High-quality training offer
"For those involved in technical and vocational training like us, the Venice Boat Show is an important opportunity to talk to operators in the sector and bring together young people interested in working in the world of logistics, a world in which more than 90% of our graduates find a job within a year of the end of their courses," emphasised Damaso Zanardo, president of the Its Marco Polo Academy. The latest-generation simulator that we will be bringing to the Arsenal testifies to the quality of our didactic offer, which is increasingly advanced and innovative, designed to prepare tomorrow's professionals for the great technological transformations taking place in infrastructures and means of transport. The future of professions related to the sea also passes through the classrooms of the Its Marco Polo, which contributes to the development of the maritime-port system and intermodal transport with 11 study paths for eight profiles that are in high demand on the market, including the new figure of the Purser of the Board".
