From 27 November to 17 December at the Teatro Dal Verme, composer and pianist Ludovico Einaudi concludes the musical year, after his world tour, with seventeen concerts, a tradition that began in 2015. He will present "Echoes from the Summer Portraits", a special and deeply personal project: an unprecedented collaboration with his son Leo, who will share the stage with him along with Federico Mecozzi (violin), Klest Kripa (violin), Redi Hasa (cello), Veronica Conti (cello), Rocco Nigro (accordion), Francesco Arcuri (percussion), Gianluca Mancini (keyboards) and Alberto Fabris (bass).
Torino
On the 25th at the Auditorium G. Agnelli, Lingotto, 'Thucydides. Athens versus Melo". A narrator, two actresses, a hundred cellists to bring to life some of the most topical pages of Thucydides' "Peloponnesian War". And a stage that does not just act as a frame, but becomes a community because, according to Alessandro Baricco, author and narrator on stage, "works of this kind are rites of memory to be performed with many people". With him are the actresses Stefania Rocca and Valeria Solarino, the 100 Cellos directed by Enrico Melozzi and Giovanni Sollima, composer of the original music as well as performer. The ultimatum that the Athenians sent to the oligarchs of Melo in 416 B.C. before attacking their island is re-read. The refusal of the Melii to submit to their rule would result in exemplary punishment. But before the arms are handed over, the ambassadors of the two sides will face each other in a verbal confrontation that resonates today more than ever as a sharp reflection on what Justice and Law are when faced with an aggressor and an aggressed, a strong and a weak, a victor and a vanquished.
