The Creator Economy will have its own Ateco code. It will enter into force on 1 January 2025 and has been prepared by Istat and Eurostat with the collaboration of the Italian Association of Content & Digital Creators and the Ministry of Business and the Made in Italy. "An important milestone in the sign of innovation: from 1 January 2025 the Ateco code for the professional activity of influencer marketing will be included. This is a victory for the League thanks to the work of our undersecretary at the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy, Massimo Bitonci, together with Istat, Eurostat and the Italian Association of Content & Digital Creators. This is a fundamental step forward in giving due recognition to a fast-growing sector in Italy, particularly among many young professionals,' wrote deputy prime minister Matteo Salvini on social media.
'This is a historic turning point for the Creator Economy sector,' comments Sara Zanotelli, president of Aicdc, 'because it represents a first step towards a broad and systemic recognition of these new emerging professions. 'Having a specific Ateco code,' adds Mauri Valente, vice-president of Aicdc, 'is part of the association's broader strategy aimed at identifying and defining tax and social security regulations dedicated to the sector. For us, this is an important step that we will also discuss at our next conference, 'C for Economy: concrete answers to a virtual world', which we will organise on 11 December'.
