Atp finals, Sinner in the round with Zverev and Shelton
The draw for the last tournament of the year in Turin has been made. The fourth member of the group will be one of Auger-Aliassime and Lorenzo Musetti.
It was not a soft draw for Jannik Sinner, the one that decided the components of the two rounds of the Atp Finals in Turin, scheduled from 9 to 16 November. The South Tyrolean, defending champion, will have to contend with Sascha Zverev, Ben Shelton and whoever qualifies between Félix Auger-Aliassime and Lorenzo Musetti, who will be playing in Greece in an attempt to earn the necessary points to advance to the last tournament of the year.
In the other group Carlos Alcaraz (who has never made it beyond the semifinals at the Finals) will take on seven-time Masters Nole Djokovic (who has not, however, withdrawn his reservations about participating), Taylor Fritz and Alex de Minaur. Should Djokovic forfeit, the way would be cleared for Musetti regardless of the outcome of the ongoing tournament in Athens. The top two finishers in each group advance to the semifinals.
On the outcome of the Finals - in which Bolelli and Vassori are also fielded in doubles - will also depend the top of the Atp ranking: for the first position, Sinner must win the competition and Alcaraz must not bring home more than two matches.
