The launch of the new AUDI brand for China, written in capital letters, without the four rings is the result of a shared DNA with the Chinese market. It marks the beginning of a new era for the Audi brand in China, as it enables a rapid response to the ever-changing needs of the Chinese market. Audi was the first global premium carmaker to enter the Chinese market 37 years ago. After more than a century of engineering excellence, Audi is breaking new ground with the Chinese giant Saic, a new collaboration model for the co-development of the Advanced Digitized platform and a new generation of state-of-the-art connected vehicles.
The first of two more upcoming AUDI models
.The four-door AUDI E5 Sportback is an electric fastback with dynamic proportions: it is 4,881 mm long, 1,959 mm wide and 1,478 mm high. It offers a power output of up to 579 kilowatts and a maximum range of 770 km. Four powertrains provide Quattro rear-wheel drive for a dynamic driving experience, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds. Based on the new Advanced Digitised Platform, the E5 offers next-generation connected vehicle functionality and over-the-air updates. Market introduction in China will start in summer 2025.
The aim is to celebrate Chinese individuality
.The AUDI E5 Sportback offers a new interpretation of Audi's design language, reimagining iconic brand elements such as athletic proportions, bold wheel arches and a sleek front and rear. The exterior balances minimalist elegance achieved through novel lighting graphics, rounded wheel arches and a striking Sportback silhouette. The front and rear styling is new: minimalist in form and practical in function. The grille is unprecedented, the shoulders are pronounced and a digital surface ring is complemented by illuminated logos front and rear: the E5 is thus designed to leave an impression.
Lighting: technology meets emotion
.Underlining the car's minimalist ethos, the slim headlights and functional modules are integrated into the sleek black loop. When activated, more than 1,000 individual light units integrate triangular light sources to form the distinctive AUDI lightweight frame, a distinctive element that adds to the engineering precision. In addition to its distinctive lighting design, the AUDI E5 Sportback features Audi's Matrix LED headlights. With precise beam control plus intelligent illumination, they offer both more safety and driving comfort at night, while avoiding the glare of others.
Interior inspired by Audi's heritage and for tomorrow
Designed in clear horizontal layers, the interior integrates luxurious materials with exclusive comfort features: immersive speakers, ambient natural lighting and hidden intelligent air vents complemented by a fragrance diffuser with three distinctive scents. The curved AUDI panoramic display shared by driver and passenger is integrated with digital exterior mirrors, while the centre console offers open storage space for two phones and 50-watt wireless charging with active cooling. The comfortable seats are equipped with headrest speakers.
